Collectors' Circle

A private community for collectors and people shaping the cultural and business landscape of Dubai and beyond.
Dom Collectors’ Circle is an initiative of Dom Art Projects, bringing together people with a shared curiosity for contemporary art, culture, and ideas.

We see collecting not simply as acquiring artworks, but as a way of engaging with the world: following artists over time, understanding the contexts in which art is produced, developing one’s own perspective, and participating in the cultural conversations that shape the present.

The Circle creates opportunities for this engagement through encounters with artists, curators, collectors, writers, and thinkers; access to studios and private collections; exhibitions and performances; and journeys across the international art world.

Based in Dubai and extending internationally, it is conceived as a space for knowledge, exchange, discovery, and long-term relationships around art.

Why now

Dubai is entering a new phase of its cultural development. A growing community of artists, institutions, galleries, collectors, and patrons is establishing the city as an increasingly significant centre for cultural production, exchange, and the art market within the MENA region.

Its particular geography — connecting the Middle East with South and Central Asia, Africa, Europe, and beyond — makes Dubai a natural meeting point for artistic practices, perspectives, and communities from across these regions.

At the same time, collecting itself is changing. Increasingly, collectors are looking beyond the acquisition of artworks: they want to understand how artists work, engage with the ideas and contexts behind their practices, develop knowledge and confidence in their own choices, and participate more actively in the cultural ecosystem around them.

This also means seeing collecting as part of a broader culture of patronage — one in which collectors can build long-term relationships with artists and institutions and contribute to the development of the cultural landscape itself.

Dom Collectors’ Circle was created for this kind of engagement.

Cultural Program

Throughout the year, members are invited to a program developed by the curatorial team of Dom Art Projects, including:

* Exhibition previews and private viewings
* Artist encounters and studio visits
* Visits to private collections
* Conversations with artists, curators, writers, and cultural figures
* Lectures and panel discussions
* Performances and concerts
* Film screenings
* Author talks and book launches
* Private dinners and gatherings
* Special cultural events in Dubai and internationally

The program combines access with context: not only seeing art, but understanding the practices, histories, and ideas around it.

Collecting & Art Advisory

The Circle supports both new and established collectors — from those considering their first acquisition or beginning to build a collection to those looking to develop an existing one with greater focus and depth.

For those seeking individual support, Dom can accompany the collecting process at different stages — from a first acquisition and defining the initial direction of a collection to researching artists, considering new acquisitions, and developing the long-term vision of an established collection.

Dom Art Journeys

Dom Collectors’ Circle extends beyond Dubai through a series of journeys built around significant moments on the international art calendar.

Led by curators and art professionals and designed specifically for the Dom community, each journey combines major art fairs, biennials, and museum exhibitions with more personal encounters: artists’ studios, private collections, foundations, galleries, and places rarely accessible to the general public.

Rather than conventional art tours, Dom Art Journeys offer an opportunity to experience an art scene from within — through its artists, institutions, collectors, conversations, and cultural context.

They combine discovery and knowledge with privileged access and the pleasure of experiencing art together.

A Circle Built Around Art

At its core, Dom Collectors’ Circle is about building a community around a sustained engagement with art.

A place where experienced and new collectors meet; where knowledge and perspectives are exchanged; where relationships with artists and cultural practitioners can develop over time; and where collecting becomes part of a broader participation in contemporary culture.

It is also a space for connections that extend beyond art — for conversations, friendships, collaborations, and ideas that emerge through shared cultural experiences.

Because the most interesting relationship with art begins long before an acquisition — and continues long after it.
